Having just a single slot has really been bothering the Pinoy housemates and, indirectly as it seems, the Teenternationals as well. The latter have decided to retain their slots after all the friction between the two teams, a decision that was accepted by the Pinoy housemates. The teens had made up already, yet they could not easily erase what happened from their minds. Hurt was still harbored within the Pinoy teens, while a sense of betrayal still lurked in the Teenternationals. The gravity of what was at stake was further stressed when the plasma screen revealed exactly what prizes were waiting for the Teen Big 4.
The PInoy housemates were called in individually by Kuya and were asked just how badly they wanted the slot. All their responses echoed the same sentiment: that they were willing to do everything and anything to win it for their team. Angelo, still wondering how he could possibly help in a big way, was willing to sacrifice by offering himself for automatic nomination or forced eviction.
Whether it was the plan all along or if their sheer determination moved Kuya, another task was announced. The team who won the task would move on to having a chance to compete for the Big Jump to the Big Night. Last season, Paul Jake, Tibo and Melai were given this rare chance where their endurance was tested for standing several hours in the middle of the pool, in positions that grew more difficult with time. The pre-challenge was similar to this: two chairs, one per team, made out of dominoes were set up in the Villa’s living room. Each housemate had to sit in it for an hour, without the dominoes tumbling. If it does, then the timer stops to allow the team to fix it, and time resumed after the chair was fixed again.
Fretzie and James were first up, and the former made her chair topple once, while James couldn’t help but point out that his bottom was aching. “ I have to take my mind off my ass, it hurts so much,” he shared. “The first five minutes are easy, then it gets harder and harder.” Bret and Tricia took the next shift, where Bret got irritated with Tricia’s continuous mumbling of the rosary, followed by the reading of the Bible. Despite this, Bret pushed forward. His inspiration? “My team.” Yet he also admitted that he wanted the Pinoy housemates to have the chance. “I kinda hope the Pinoy housemates win. I don’t think there’s gping to be a Big 5, but I’m hoping there is.” To Fretzie, whom he overlapped with, Bret said, “When you get out, look for me ha? If you leave, I’ll look for you.”
Ryan and Devon took over, followed by Jenny and Angelo. Ryan’s funny faces had Devon laughing, but even more so when Jenny chomped on half a banana and sang terribly. Jenny later revealed that she did that not to distract the others, but to keep her focus, knowing that her weakness was sitting still for a long period of time. Given the sensitive nature of their chair, one small fidget could cause it to come crashing down. True enough, her chair falls and the Pinoy teens help in rebuilding it.
Joe and Sophia took the next shift, then Ivan and Ann. Last in line were Patrick and Jack, but the latter was ahead by several minutes already. Unfortunately for Jack, his chair fell several times with not just a small damage, and rebuilding it took several minutes. Finally, Kuya counted down Patrick’s last 15 seconds. The Pinoy housemates won the challenge!
The next question is: who among the Pinoy teen housemates will finally bag the prize and jump straight to the Teen Big Night? Your guess is as good as theirs.
